Recommendation

Build one recognizable Blockstream Enterprise publication family, with page layouts suited to each reader's task. Start by comparing three treatments of the same AMP excerpt. Choose the treatment from rendered pages, then produce the ECS committee briefing as the first complete pilot.

My preferred treatment is a dark branded cover with white reading pages. It carries the live Enterprise identity into a document that people can read, print and circulate. This is a proposed application of the current brand, not an existing approved PDF template.

Design plan ready. Visual concepts and finished PDFs are the next production steps.

1. Brand baseline, checked against the live site

The controlling reference is Blockstream Enterprise, supported by the public Blueprint brand library. Previous rebrand explorations are outside this brief. Earlier lead-magnet defaults yield to this specification.

Verified reference
Live Contact button uses #0066FF
Application to these PDFs
Meaningful diagram emphasis and CTA accents

Corporate blue

Verified reference
Brand library specifies #00C3FF
Application to these PDFs
Preserve in official brand assets; do not confuse it with the Enterprise CTA blue

Light-page text

Verified reference
Brand typography specifies #0C0C0F and #080B0E
Application to these PDFs
Strong contrast on proposed white interiors

Logo

Verified reference
Current official symbol and wordmark
Application to these PDFs
Use the supplied asset with its proportions and clear space intact; no recreated logo

Illustration style

Verified reference
Live Enterprise page uses fine outlines, angular/isometric forms and blue emphasis
Application to these PDFs
Adapt the line language to actual responsibilities, handoffs and decisions

Fonts are confirmed both in the live page's rendered styles and the official typography reference. Colors above distinguish corporate brand colors from observed Enterprise implementation.

Use an authorized, embeddable Rigid Square font for PDF production. Inter is the body font, not a substitute for the heading identity. The web's pixel sizes do not become PDF point sizes automatically.

Keep one Enterprise wrapper across ECS, AMP and Simplicity. Product names distinguish the editions. If a product logo appears, use its official asset and colors unchanged. The public AMP library has its own teal palette; that does not require turning the whole Enterprise publication teal. Do not invent product lockups or place a product name tightly against the corporate logo. Follow the logo reference.

The live site contains glow and decorative imagery. For these working documents, retain its fonts, palette, logo and outline language while following John's existing preference for clean diagrams without glow, ambient grids, shiny treatments or status dots. Every illustration must explain something.

2. Compare three treatments

All three use the same current brand assets, fonts, content and page size. The comparison changes composition and illustration treatment.

A. Enterprise briefing, recommended

Cover
Charcoal, strong title, one restrained outline illustration
Interior
White, generous spacing, clear evidence tables and blue emphasis
What it tests
Whether a familiar brand presentation can feel useful in an internal decision meeting

B. Technical field guide

Cover
Charcoal, numbered workflow and task-focused title
Interior
White, stronger step numbers, actor lanes, annotated diagrams and compact evidence panels
What it tests
Whether a more instructional presentation makes the work easier to follow

C. Dark report

Cover
Charcoal with white title and a prominent explanatory figure
Interior
Dark panels, white type and blue connectors; writing/ledger areas remain white
What it tests
Whether stronger continuity with the website is worth the reading and printing tradeoffs

Produce a cover and the same worked interior page for each treatment: six pages total. Compare them side by side at cover-thumbnail size and normal reading size.

Use One Issuance, Seven Handoffs for this comparison because its real draft gives us actors, a transaction and a reconciled ledger to design around. It tests more than a decorative cover. It is the design specimen, not a decision to launch AMP first.

The common interior page should show the fictional transfer of 100 units from Alice to Cedar: balances change from 400/350/250 to 300/350/350 across Alice, Blue and Cedar, while total supply stays 1,000. Label it “Illustrative example.” Show actor, action, evidence and balance change. Make clear this is an operational example, not a captured AMP interface or a verified live transaction.

Keep the same title, promise, diagram facts and text in all three. Do not spend this round rewriting the offer or generating unrelated styles.

3. Visuals to make for each draft

The Internal Case for a Custody Project

Main visual
Buying-committee role map
Supporting modules
Role/concern/evidence comparison; populated decision memo
What the visual must clarify
Who needs to agree, what they need to see and what remains unresolved

Five Custody Tabletop Exercises Before Go-Live

Main visual
A scenario timeline
Supporting modules
Reusable situation, minute-15 change, decision, evidence and debrief blocks
What the visual must clarify
What happens during an organizational exercise; never imply a live infrastructure test

One Issuance, Seven Handoffs

Main visual
Seven-stage responsibility map
Supporting modules
Transfer ledger; cash exception panel; technical-versus-cash closeout
What the visual must clarify
Which actor owns each handoff and why a technical close does not settle an unresolved cash exception

Follow a Simplicity Contract from Rule to Rejection

Main visual
Rule, transaction and witness diagram
Supporting modules
Exact code excerpt with annotations; expected success/rejection comparison
What the visual must clarify
Which check rejects which input, and which responsibilities remain in the application

Use editable vector diagrams for exact flows and labels. Create original compositions in the current outline style. AI image generation can explore a small number of cover illustrations when it adds something useful; it should not draw the logo, write code, invent charts or depict unverified product UI. No generation is needed for a table, code annotation or straightforward process diagram.

A product screenshot is optional and only belongs where a real, current screen helps the reader do the task. The site’s promotional illustrations are style references, not proof of product behavior.

For Simplicity, keep the pinned source, scope and “expected from reading the source” qualification next to the example. No successful execution badge, terminal output, audit seal or proof claim: this draft has not been compiled or executed.

4. Reusable page system

Start with US Letter portrait, approximately 0.7-inch margins and one main reading column. All essential diagrams must work on one page; avoid required two-page spreads.

  • Cover: publisher, title, reader benefit, format and edition. The offer should be understandable in a small preview.
  • Opening page: intended reader, the decision or task, what the resource contains and how to use it.
  • Reading page: short sections with one primary idea or task.
  • Workflow page: named actors, actions, boundaries and evidence. Every arrow has a meaning.
  • Evidence or example page: nearby source, explicit illustrative label and substantive qualifications at reading size.
  • Closing page: useful next step, linked sources and a relevant contact CTA.

Starting PDF sizes: cover title 30-36pt; section title 23-27pt; body 11-12pt; tables 10-11pt; source details 9pt. These are layout proposals, subject to rendering. Split a dense table or diagram before shrinking it. Preserve actual writing space in the original workbook formats.

Use blue to identify a relationship, action or emphasis. Do not rely on color to communicate pass/fail or status. On white pages, use dark body text and check blue-label contrast. Use real text for headings, labels, tables and code so they remain selectable and searchable.

5. How we choose and produce the final treatment

Round 1: Six-page comparison. The designer prepares A/B/C with identical content. John chooses the strongest cover/interior combination and can identify specific elements to combine. Review brand fidelity, offer clarity, reading comfort, diagram accuracy and how easily the system can extend to the other formats. The recommendation is A with B's diagram clarity.

Round 2: One complete pilot. Apply the selected system to the ECS committee briefing, aiming for roughly 5-7 pages without forcing the content into a fixed count. Include cover, opening, stakeholder material, worked memo, next step and sources. Design one additional Simplicity excerpt to check that the same system handles code legibly.

Round 3: Build the first test pair. Once content issues are resolved, give the original ECS Custody Evaluation Pack the same publication system. This pairs with the new committee briefing under the existing offer test plan. Extend the selected style to the tabletop, AMP and Simplicity drafts as they are prioritized and reviewed.

The content/technical owner checks factual diagrams and claims; John selects the design direction; the producer handles layout and export; the coordinator verifies the rendered result. A chosen aesthetic does not by itself make an unreviewed product claim ready for publication.

For the first production pass, reuse the existing research and drafts. One layout owner should maintain the visual system. If agent help is useful, delegate bounded diagram or layout tasks at an appropriate economical model/effort level; reserve deeper review for technical accuracy and final synthesis. Avoid a new research swarm or independently designing every PDF.

6. Deliverables and checks

Design exploration: six sample pages and a compact comparison sheet. Selected pilot: the complete PDF, editable layout source, diagram sources and cover preview. Reusable kit: typography, palette, spacing, logo placement, page patterns and export settings. Keep one source of truth so later revisions do not require manual edits in multiple formats.

Inspect every exported page for clipping, font substitution, small labels, broken links and reading order. Check cover thumbnails, normal desktop reading, grayscale printing and phone preview behavior. A Letter PDF may need zoom on a phone; provide a public HTML companion for comfortable mobile reading. Verify font embedding, selectable text and consistent figure/source references.

Publish plans and briefs on notes.oddhours.xyz, the default review destination from 15 September 2026. Keep supporting draft files in the existing Drive folder. During production, add 04 Visual Concepts and 05 Selected Design and PDFs there, preserving earlier drafts.

Select aesthetics through the page review. Test lead-magnet offers separately using the existing test plan. Compare qualified contacts and relevant conversations within comparable audiences. A preferred cover or a few downloads cannot establish a conversion winner.
