One brief. Three ways to draw it.

JavaScript, Higgsfield and ChatGPT Images, placed in the same ECS cover. Compare the artwork, then see what each method is useful for.

Current direction: review the code-built ECS and AMP graphics →

The brief: five review frames, one blue path, dark graphite, precise isometric geometry. The image is a conceptual illustration of a committee decision. It does not depict deployed ECS architecture.

JavaScript

JavaScript: five review frames with a blue path

Exact geometry and repeatable changes.

Five frames and one continuous path are constructed from explicit coordinates. The source controls the geometry and palette.

Needs attention: The quality depends on the drawing and art direction. Code gives control; it does not supply a visual idea by itself.

Higgsfield

Higgsfield: five review frames with a blue path

Generated art with editable paths.

Returned a real SVG with five frames and a blue path. Its large white faces have strong contrast at cover size.

Needs attention: The drawing adds busy construction lines and departs from the requested graphite faces. Generated paths are not organized like a hand-built design system.

ChatGPT Images

ChatGPT Images: five review frames with a blue path

The strongest depth and composition in this test.

Produced five distinct frames with convincing thickness and a clear blue arrow. It reads as one coherent illustration.

Needs attention: Added subtle tonal shading despite the flat-color brief. The result is a bitmap; the frames are not individually editable objects.

Which path should we use?

Start with ChatGPT Images. It gave us the most convincing cover illustration in this trial. Check the result against the brand brief before using it.

For this lead-magnet series, my recommendation is generated artwork for selected covers, JavaScript/SVG for explanatory diagrams, and typeset labels, tables and source notes in the document itself.

Editing, time and cost

JavaScript

Use it for
Diagrams where the number of stages, connections, labels or values must agree with the text.
How to revise
Change named parameters, then render again. SVG shapes remain editable.
Cost for this test
No image-generation API charge. Coding still uses Codex usage.
Time observed
Authoring and revision time, followed by a fast deterministic render.

Higgsfield

Use it for
Editorial brand illustrations when vector output matters and there is time for visual cleanup.
How to revise
Edit the returned SVG paths in a vector editor, or generate another version. Check the geometry after either change.
Cost for this test
10 credits quoted for this generation. Final billed credits were not returned.
Time observed
Completed within 32 seconds of submission; exact backend duration was not returned.

ChatGPT Images

Use it for
Cover art and concept exploration where visual quality matters more than exact object-by-object edits.
How to revise
Request an image edit, or rebuild the selected idea in vector or 3D. Keep exact labels and brand typography in the document layout.
Cost for this test
The tool did not expose a per-image price or usage charge.
Time observed
The generation call took 16.3 seconds. This excludes briefing, inspection and layout.

What this test tells us

Both image models received the same text prompt. Recraft also received its supported palette controls. Each generated result is the first pass, with no retouching. The JavaScript illustration was authored against the same brief and retains its source code.

This is one visual brief, not a ranking across every kind of image. The observed times use different measurements and are not an end-to-end speed benchmark. Both generative results still need a designer to inspect the geometry and brand fit.

Higgsfield returned an SVG, which is a useful distinction from a PNG that merely looks like vector art. ChatGPT produced the more convincing depth in this sample. JavaScript gives us explicit control when an illustration also needs to explain a process accurately.
